We always like to celebrate the sporting successes our students achieve at school, but we are equally impressed with what they achieve out of school as this shows the dedication they have for their chosen sport.
Year 10 student Ellie Mae Horsted is certainly a rising star in the golfing world and we were delighted that she has been crowned Lincolnshire Girls Junior Country Champion.
In the county competition, which was held at Boston Golf Club she recorded an incredible gross score of 168 over 36 holes. This was 3 shots clear of her nearest competitor who was the Under 18 category winner.
This is an amazing achievement, but not surprising as she has been one of the stand-out young players at the Woodhall Spa Golf Club where she is a member.
Ellie Mae will be competing in the National Women’s Medal Final later this year after another success in the Midland North Region Final where she finished 4th place despite playing off a far lower handicap (and only one Stableford point off from finishing 2nd). We wish Ellie Mae all the success in this competition.
