You should never judge a book by its cover

We are often influenced by the cover of a book, the title or who the author is. But what would you choose to read a book purely on nothing but the first line? That’s exactly what our students have been challenged with!

This ingenious initiative was put together by Oliver Edis in Year 9 and Imogen Broom in Year 11 who are the school Junior Librarians. Assisted by School Librarian, Mrs Arden they carefully chose a fantastic selection of books they thought that students should both try and would really enjoy reading and covered them with just the first line on show.

A separate area in the library has been created where the books are displayed. Students have been able choose a book by the first line and they have been rewarded with 25 rewards points for each book read.
