Open Evening welcomes families to visit our fantastic school
Our annual Open Evening proved to be one of the most popular events each year as we welcomed around 1,500 visitors coming from Bourne and surrounding towns and villages.
We would like to thank every parent/carer and student from Years 4 to 6 who attended and made this event, especially as they did not let the wet weather dampen the atmosphere. Due to the wet weather, we had more cars park on the school grounds – we were therefore grateful for everyone who took the time to visit our school on such as busy evening.
It was so rewarding for the staff and students in the whole school to see how enthusiastic the students in Years 4 to 6 and their parents/carers were as they viewed all of the different subject areas, led by our team of dedicated student tour guides.
There was a real community spirit throughout the vibrant and enjoyable evening as so many families were pleased to see each other as they explored the school.
With a capacity audience in the school hall and so many people eager to visit on the evening, our main presentations with Mrs Conley, Chief Executive Officer and Mrs Curson, Head of School started earlier than scheduled and we run many subsequent presentations due to visitors attending throughout the evening. These talks provided parents/carers with a real insight into the school and the feedback afterwards shows how much they appreciate being able to hear from the Trust leadership.
We would like to thank every one of the Bourne Academy students who were amazing on the evening as they were so enthusiastic and passionate about wanting to represent the subject areas and show families around the school.
Archie Harrison and Maddie Rankin-Thomas in Year 7 did a fantastic job speaking so confidently in the main hall during the presentation. Our talented Sixth Form music students of Tegan Wyche and Danny Petherick kept the audience entertained with their music performances.
The Open Evenings provide the perfect opportunity for parents/carers to really find out about the school as there is no substitute to seeing it in person. On the evening we received so many positive comments from parents/carers who attended and it was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces.
