Sixth Form

Your Future In Your Hands

We believe Bourne Academy offers a unique environment for post-16 education. Our aim is to give each student an opportunity to shape their futures; to develop self-worth, to become more confident competent citizens.

Our sixth formers are young men and women on the cusp of further education at university, college or new careers.

We believe that hard work, effective personal organisation and a happy student atmosphere are crucial to success. Not only can our students leave the school with the exam results they can be proud of but also the skills to further develop their talents in the next phase of their lives. We like to entrust our students with a degree of responsibility for their own learning and personal development, within a framework of support and guidance.

Pathways to Success

We hope that all students who enter our Sixth Form will prove to be successful during their time here. Academic success is very important so we offer a wide range of A Level and BTEC courses, with the freedom to choose almost any combination of subjects.

We have taken care to include a wide range of subjects in our Sixth Form curriculum. We know that our students’ talents and interests range from Media to Maths or Biology to English Language so we have made sure our subject options cater for everybody.

Support, Grow, Succeed

We encourage students to take opportunities to develop old and new interests and skills. We devote a lot of time and resources to help all students. We have four main aims:

  • To provide you with the opportunity to learn and develop the necessary skills to have a successful further education and working life.
  • To give you increasing responsibility to show both employers and universities what an asset you would be.
  • To achieve your very best examination results.
  • To support your needs outside the classroom and thus allow you to grow as an individual.
