On Remembrance Sunday, all of our Trust Executive Head Students along with Mr Sammy and Mrs Barber represented Bourne Academy by taking part in the Bourne Town Parade and placing a poppy wreath at the memorial service.

Mr Sammy, Head of School said “The event was well attended and it was pleasure to see many of our other students representing the cadets and other groups on this special occasion.”

Throughout last week, students and staff have been getting involved in a variety of ways from selling poppies in aid of the Royal British Legion to incorporating Remembrance into subject lessons.

On Remembrance Day on 11th November at 11am, the whole school stopped during breaktime for a one-minute silence to mark the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the month, which was impeccably observed.

Each year, we also give students that are part of a RAF, Army or Police Cadets, St John Ambulance or Scouts and Guides the opportunity to wear their uniform throughout the school day.
