Results from the South Lincolnshire Cross Country Trials

Students from Bourne Academy have once again excelled in Cross Country as students have been selected to represent Lincolnshire at the Regional and National Finals.

Last weekend, we had ten runners take part in the Country Cross Country Trials for the South Lincolnshire Superzone at Burghley House in Stamford. It was a wet and miserable day, but that did not get our runners down in what proved to be very competitive races with some muddy tracks and fields to navigate.

Ted Ash in Year 11 continued his excellent record by finishing in 2nd place in the Inter-Boys to qualify for both the Regional and National competitions. Daisy Hay in Year 10 has once again been selected to represent Lincolnshire after finishing in 17th place in her Inter-Girls race. Finlay Smith in Year 7 put in an excellent first competition performance in the Minor-Boys competition finishing in 3rd place to also qualify for the Regionals (and may also be attending a new National competition).

Ms Ged Coles, SLAT Director of PE and Sport said “Every competitor was a real credit to the school and performed outstandingly in their races. Well done to all the runners.”
