The Play That Goes Wrong was a right laugh

Luckily, nothing went wrong on a school trip to London, other than the play, when 54 of our Year 10 to 13 students went to the West End to watch the hilarious show ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’!
At the end of the day on the last of term, our students travelled to the Duchess Theatre in London to watch this chaotic play, which is currently the longest running comedy in the West End.
‘The Play That Goes Wrong’ is a classic whodunnit story where there has been a murder at a country manor and an inspector is set on the case to find out who the culprit is. However, when this plot is given to the accident-prone actors at The Cornley Drama Society, everything that can go wrong… does!
With the Year 11 and 13 exams taking place in the next few weeks it was a great opportunity for our students to see a professional production full of exaggerated characters, slapstick comedy, multi-role and clever use of set.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the performance and the actor playing the part of Trevor, the technician, high-fived Mr Swinn at the end of the night and said “they were such a good audience, thank you for bringing them!”
- The Play That Goes Wrong will be appearing at the Duchess Theatre until April 2024. For more details, visit: https://theduchesstheatre.co.uk/tickets/the-play-that-goes-wrong
