To develop coding skills, the Computer Science department run a fun competition for students to create their own version of the Pacman arcade game using Scratch programming software.
Scratch is a visual programming language that uses a block-based interface to teach the fundamentals of coding and is ideally suited to create games such as Pacman. Whilst the game was created over 40 years ago, it continues to play an important role in inspiring the next generation of coders.
Congratulations to Kieran Orme in Year 8 who was judged to have designed the best game with strong playability and use of coding.
