Tom Gates drawing masterclass gets book fans doodling
For a special lunchtime session in the library, our Year 7 and 8 students watched a video presentation from author, creator and illustrator of the ‘Tom Gates’ series of books – Liz Pichon.
She talked about her books, which has sold more than 14 million copies worldwide and provided a tutorial with tips on how to draw and doodle just she does in her bestselling books.
We were really impressed with how quickly our students were able to replicate the Tom Gates style and produce some really impressive doodles that wouldn’t look out of place in the next book.
The talk was provided by Scholastic who supply books to schools across the UK and promote World Book Day to inspire young people to get into books and reading.
