Competition to recycle household items into environmental sculptures

Competition to recycle household items into environmental sculptures

Our latest House competition was organised by the Geography department and involved a load of rubbish when students in each form have been collecting recycled household items such as cardboard, plastic bottles and containers.

Using their imagination, students in each form then worked a team and were able to take everyday objects and turn them into something spectacular. The House competition involved creating sculptures with an environmental theme and they were able to inject some colour and creativity by using art materials.

Mrs Crooks and Mrs Brisbourne from the Geography department had the difficult job of judging the competition as there was so many fantastic entries. The effort and creativity was matched by the teamwork and thought gone into every sculpture.

Well done to every form who took part and the overall winners were (pictured above):

  • 1st – Keller House (Yellow 4)
  • 2nd – Galileo House (Orange 4)
  • 3rd – Keller House (Yellow 6)

There are also very noteworthy mentions for (pictured below):

  • Galileo House (Orange 3)
  • Hereward House (Red 6)
  • Keller House (Yellow 3)
