Year 10 Netball Team are winners of SLAT Netball Tournament

With there being four schools in South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, this provides us with the perfect opportunity for all four of the schools to compete in our very own SLAT sports tournaments.

This is the second year we have run the tournament, which takes place at Spalding Academy as this is a central location for all schools in the Trust to visit.

Our Year 10 Netball Team picked up from the winning start made by the Year 11 Netball Team at the start of the year by also winning their tournament and earning Bourne Academy maximum points.

The team were undefeated as they won 8-1 against Cowley Academy and 10-6 against Spalding Academy, then drew 7-7 against Giles Academy with excellent attacking play in all of the games.

Special mentions must go to Matilda Hay for her outstanding play as Centre and Sophie Fisher for her attacking play as Wing Attack by moving the ball into attack and to the shooters.

The Player of the Tournament was awarded to Isabell Rowson who was outstanding in defence as her crucial interceptions prevented the ball from going into the opposition end on multiple occasions.
