Forget the Fantastic Four – meet our Elite Eleven

A team of motivated Year 10 students from Bourne Academy travelled to the Peter Paine Performance Centre at Boston College to compete in the annual Elite Eleven Competition where Bourne Academy finished SECOND PLACE out of the whole of Lincolnshire.

Elite Eleven is a mixed inter-school sporting competition that involves 11 secondary schools from across Lincolnshire who compete against each other in a variety of indoor sporting challenges. All four schools in our Trust participated so this added extra competition between our own schools.

The challenges facing our students were tests of fitness, strength, speed, power, agility, memory, problem solving and team-based challenges. Our fantastic team of students motivated each other on every challenge by cheering each other on, and by accumulating points for every challenge completed, we were pleased to finish to day in second place.

A special mention goes to Finlay Smith, who achieved the top record of the day in the Illinois Agility Challenge, and Rebecca Palmer, who set the joint top record in the Reaction Test.

Miss Lyn-Kew, Teacher of PE said “I am extremely proud of every single student as they all demonstrated great sportsmanship, performed extremely well setting records throughout the day and were extremely supportive of each other. Their achievements, alongside the collective effort of the team, made this a truly memorable and successful event for Bourne Academy.”
