Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day

Mrs Crooks of Bourne Academy shares her story of the war in Afghanistan to the students of Hereward House. The assembly for remembrance day this year is a real life story of one of our very own geography teachers and has made the students think more about the people who fight for our country and what we really reflect on during Armistice day. It’s not all about the WW1 soldiers it’s also about all of the fallen soldiers through the subsequent years, who have given up their own lives for our country.

As well as themed assemblies all last week, we had cadet students wearing their uniform on Remembrance Day, including Army, Air, Guides, Scouts and St John Ambulance Cadets. We are extremely proud of our students supporting our uniformed services.
