The moving tale of the Blood Brothers is a hit with drama students
Experiencing live theatre in a variety of professional settings plays an important part of studying Performing Arts, which is why our drama department organise many great opportunities throughout the academic year.
Last month, our students were treated to a fantastic evening of live theatre to watch the current touring production of the multi-award-winning Blood Brothers at New Theatre Peterborough.
Written by Willy Russell, the legendary Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.

Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the show has played for more than 10,000 performances in London’s West End and is one of only three musicals ever to achieve that milestone.
The play, which is studied by our BTEC Performing Arts students, is famous for the same actors playing their characters at different ages as the play progresses, and students were treated to a host of gripping performances, especially from Sean Jones who has been playing Mickey for over 20 years!
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the performance as afterwards said “The music was amazing and was complemented by some brilliant vocal performances” and “The performances of the actors were really engaging with lots of emotion and I was totally invested in their story even if I already knew where it was going.”
