Bourne Academy celebrates exceptional GCSE and BTEC results

Students and staff at Bourne Academy are celebrating another set of exceptional examination results.
Exam outcomes have indicated that Bourne Academy has once again performed exceptionally well in both the academic and vocational pathways across all subject areas. Furthermore, this year’s data indicates further improvement from the last set of validated results in 2019.
The set of GCSE and BTEC results at Bourne Academy highlights the strength of the quality of education, underpinned by the exceptional pastoral care as noted by Ofsted inspectors last year, in May 2022. The positive set of outcomes indicate that improvement has occurred in the majority of headline measures, including overall attainment and progress.
South Lincolnshire Academies Trust Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Lucy Conley said “This set of results demonstrates the incredible hard work of our students and staff, and reflects the students’ hard work and commitment to their studies. Staff in the school go above and beyond to support and prepare their students for their exams, including through regular intervention sessions during lunchtime and after school; offering revision crammer sessions and by offering a full programme of exam intervention support during the Easter and May half term.
The anticipated drop in national GCSE and BTEC results that was speculated on in the press, is certainly not the case for Bourne Academy! We are all extremely happy with this set of results.
I am also extremely proud to share that all three of the other schools in the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, being Spalding Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy have also shown continued improvement this year, compared to the last validated data in 2019. They have performed exceptionally well in the GCSE and BTEC results this summer, which demonstrates the success of the Trust and reflects the drive and commitment of school leaders and the staff who want to offer students in Lincolnshire the best opportunities possible and aspire to be the best they can be.
I would like to wish all of our amazing young people all the very best for their future and I hope they will keep in touch with the school in the future.”
Mr Matt Sammy, Head of School at Bourne Academy said “Following our outstanding Sixth Form results last week, I am thrilled with this year’s GCSE and BTEC results. I am immensely proud to be leading a school with such dedicated staff who continue to go above and beyond to ensure every young person can fulfil their potential and today’s results are testament to the hard work that our students and staff have put in over the past few years.
It gives me great pleasure to congratulate all of our students on their stunning achievements and I would like to express my thanks to all parents and carers for their continuous support.
Whilst we are delighted that so many students have achieved well this year, what matters to us most is that our young people can reach the end of Year 11 as well-rounded individuals, who can make a positive difference within their community.
There are a record number of students joining the Sixth Form at Bourne Academy in September, including many of our current students who will be staying on to pursue their studies with us and I will also look forward to welcoming many new students from local secondary schools across the region. I wish all our students the very best in the next phase of their educational endeavours whether this be A-levels, vocational courses or an apprenticeship.”
