Christmas Jumper Day

Christmas Jumper Day

Dear parent / carer,

We wanted to write to clarify any confusion over the:
• Sixth Form Christmas Jumper Day – Monday 16 Dec 2019
We apologise for any confusion caused and can confirm that the day is in support of:
• Save the Children and is for Post 16 students only

The Post 16 students have organised this day for a number of years, as part of their fund raising ideas and they have asked the staff to support the event too.

The remainder of school, i.e. Years 7 to 11 are not required to wear Christmas jumpers on Monday and need to be in normal school uniform, as they have other non-uniform days during the year and other opportunities to raise funds for selected charities, such as the house non-uniform days.

It was felt that the Post 16 students should be allowed the opportunity to support this day as a discrete group, as they do not get to support charities during other non-uniform days, due to not having a Sixth Form uniform.

We also keep this day to Sixth Form as we are very aware that many parents do want to have the additional financial pressure of buying a Christmas jumper at this time of year, which may be only worn once.

Thank you for your understanding in his matter and we thank the Sixth Form in advance for organising this day.

Kind regards,
The Sixth Form Team
