French Language Ambassadors teach pupils starting in September
Earlier this month, we welcomed a group of 30 Year 6 pupils from Bourne Westfield Primary Academy to participate in a French language and Christmas workshop hosted by our dedicated Year 9 French Ambassadors.
The language activities were delivered in two engaging sessions. These covered a range of key vocabulary based on greetings, numbers and classroom instructions as well as a focus on French Christmas activities.
The primary pupils were fully engaged in the variety of interactive and fun games allowing our Year 9 ambassadors to practise their French and develop their leadership skills.
Both Mrs Cairns (Director of Modern Foreign Languages) and Mrs Cooper (Head of Department) who organised the event, were extremely impressed with the Year 6’s enthusiasm and participation. They also thought the Year 9 ambassadors were a credit to the school showing strong leadership skills.
This partnership between the two schools helps the new students make the smooth transition to a new school and introduces the foundation of a new language.
The French department at Bourne Academy would like to wish everyone “Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee!”
