International Women's Day celebrated in assemblies and SMSC sessions

International Women’s Day will be celebrated across the world on Saturday 8th March 2025, and in school we have focused on this topic during assemblies this week and will be part of our SMSC sessions (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education) next week.

By educating our students on the history and global issues around women’s rights, we can help empower the next generation and also change attitudes around misogyny as we work towards a world with gender equality.

In the classroom sessions, we have planned activities to encourage discussion so all students can share their opinions and experiences amongst their peers.

Students will learn about voting rights, equal pay and different barriers to work such as gender-based roles, work-family balance and affordable childcare.
