Lunchtime Live Lounge returns with the best student music talent
This week saw the return of the first Lunchtime Live Lounge in 2024, which is organised by our dedicated Music Department and features the best student music talent.
The purpose of the event is to give students in all years (from Year 7 to Sixth Form) the opportunity to perform live in front of an audience and provide great entertainment for their peers during the lunchtime. There is always a large turnout as the music is always great and it helps students feel energised for the final lessons of the school day.
Students were treated to an energetic performance from Eugene, Ruby, Ivy and Emily along with Ms O’Brien who performed Lo/Hi by The Black Keys.
Peter Winfield then gave the audience a fantastic solo rendition of Heart of Stone from the Musical SIX.
The finale of the Live Lounge featured the Year 12 band of Lola, Tegan, Danny, Lucas and Seb who performed a grunge rock track by Softcult.
To keep the music flowing between acts, we even had our very own resident DJ Lara Cottam (aka DJ Dotty) playing club and house.
The next Lunchtime Live Lounge will take place on Thursday 1st February 2024 in G11. All students are welcome to give their support and students wanting to take part and perform live should speak to Ms O’Brien.
