Staff bake cakes to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support
When it comes to raising money for charity and the opportunity to have a slice of cake, the staff at Bourne Academy are always up for the challenge. Last week, the staff whisked, mixed, piped and baked (as well as ate) for charity by hosting a staff Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Across the Trust, Bourne Academy along with Spalding Academy, Cowley Academy and Giles Academy raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
There were plenty of showstopper cakes and bakes on display with something for everyone. This included traditional, indulgent, fruity and even experimental varieties plus there were ‘gluten free’ and ‘dairy free’ versions so everyone could enjoy a slice.
A special thank you goes to Miss Parker (Teacher of Science) for helping organise the event, everyone who baked a cake and all the staff who made generous donations to buy a slice (or two).
As you can see from the photos, not only are our staff great teachers, but they are great bakers as well.
