Staff are star bakers for Macmillan

When it comes to raising money for charity and the opportunity to have a slice of cake, the staff at Bourne Academy are always up for the challenge. Last month, the staff whisked, mixed, piped and baked (as well as ate) for charity by hosting a staff Macmillan Coffee Morning. The event raised an amazing £345.95 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

There were plenty of showstopper cakes and bakes on display with something for everyone. This included fruity varieties such as Banana & Pineapple and Rhubarb & Custard, traditional favourites such as Fruit Cake, Lemon Drizzle and Jam Sponge, plus the lockdown special Banana Cake.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Baker for helping organise the event, everyone who baked a cake and all the staff who made generous donations to buy a slice (or two).

As you can see from the photos, not only are our staff great teachers, but they are great bakers as well.
