Sixth Formers visit Butlins for their Travel & Tourism course
Real life experiences play an important part in the subjects our students study, which is why our Travel & Tourism department took thirty Sixth Formers on a trip to one of the UK’s most popular seaside holiday destinations – Butlins in Skegness!
Out of season, the park is closed so this was an ideal opportunity for students to meet the Marketing Team at Butlins and explore the resort.
To help students with their upcoming coursework, they had an informative presentation about how the holiday business operates from how Butlins have shifted the business towards fun and entertainment to marketing their products and services.
Students then had a tour of the resort that included the accommodation (including the first chalet built in 1936), splash park, restaurant areas and activity areas. They even got to meet the mascots ‘Bonnie and Billy’ who are used to performing and posing for photos!
It was not all work and no play as the students also got the opportunity to burn some energy by playing a game of laser tag and during lunch, they were able to explore and experience the resort for themselves.
