SLAT SIXTH FORM @ BOURNE ACADEMY
About our Sixth Form
South Lincolnshire Academies Trust have a long established and highly successful Sixth Form at Bourne Academy where we are pleased to welcome students from secondary schools all across Lincolnshire, Rutland and Cambridgeshire.
We offer a variety of full time study pathways giving students more options and subjects to choose from and this enables them to ‘mix and match’ A-levels and BTEC qualifications so they can get the best options available.
Students choose to study with us because of the results they can achieve. Over the last six years, we have had a 99% pass rate in A-levels and BTECs and last year 99% of students went to their first choice university. Not everyone wants to go to university after Sixth Form, which is why our staff and careers team will support every student and help prepare them for university, higher level apprenticeship or employment.
Our Sixth Form has a friendly and professional environment where there is a mutual respect between staff and students. We treat our students as young adults but will always provide a high level of pastoral support both in and out of the classroom. The Sixth Form team have an open door policy so someone is always available for students to ask questions or discuss any issues they may have.
Sixth Form students are important role models for the rest of the school. We will provide opportunities to be involved in subject departments as well as hold positions of responsibility such as Head Student, and to participate in local community projects.
The positive relationships which are built up between students, staff and parents / carers will mean that we all work together to achieve the very best for every student.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on sixthform@bourneacademy.org or 01778 391246 if you have any questions and we look forward to welcoming you into our Sixth Form family.
Sixth Form Open Evening
The next Sixth Form Open Evening at Bourne Academy will take place on Thursday 13th November 2025 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
The Open Evening is for students in Years 10 and 11 who have studied GCSEs from any secondary school in the local area.
At the Open Evening you will have the opportunity to meet and speak to students and staff from the wide variety of subjects on offer.
For students who are new to the school or if a parent/carer who has come on their own, there will be Sixth Formers who can help show you around.
There will be presentations by Mrs Jemma Curson and Mr James Hind, and the first presentation will start by 6.00pm with additional presentations taking place throughout the evening.
As this event is incredibly busy, you can register in advance using the link below for fast track entry. This will save you time on the evening and make it quicker to enter. You only need to register for the student attending (guests do not need to register).
On the evening, please arrive at the main school entrance where our staff and students look forward to welcoming you. Our Open Evenings are always very busy so please allow time for car parking.

Why study at Bourne Academy Sixth Form?
As a large Sixth Form with over 350 students, you will be able to choose from a wide range of A-level and BTEC subjects.
You can choose to study three or four subjects on our Academic, Vocational or Combination study pathways.
Over the last six years, we have had a 99% pass rate in A-levels and BTECs. In 2025, 50% of A-levels and BTECs were the equivalent of grade A* to A.
Our purpose built Sixth Form Centre has a large common room, study centre and suite of modern classrooms. The Sixth Form building is also being expanded for 2026 with four new classrooms.
An outstanding SMSC and enrichment programme is embedded into every timetable plus there are extra-curricular activities including The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
As the top ranked non-selective mixed secondary school in Lincolnshire, we are able to recruit the highest calibre of teachers.
Every student will undertake work experience, which will help with their UCAS application or future employment.
The Sixth Form Centre is a friendly environment to study. There is not a uniform but a dress code where our students come professionally dressed as they would in the workplace.
We have a dedicated pastoral team who focus on supporting all students both in and out of the classroom. We recognise student achievements with an annual programme of student rewards.
We support every student whether they want to go to their first choice university, start a higher level apprenticeship or gain employment.
