Annual Sports Day brings out the best in athletes

One of the highlights of the academic year is the Bourne Academy Sports Day which took place on Tuesday 24th June 2025 and we were treated to sunshine and dry weather for students to compete.
This year’s event was held at the sports facilities in Bourne Academy and we hope that the event can return to the Princess Royal Sports Arena in Boston next year.
Even though we didn’t have the grandstand packed full of students cheering on every event, there was still excellent atmosphere between the year groups and Houses as everyone supported each other to do their best. Everyone put in their best performances and students were good spirited with tremendous enthusiasm.
Over 300 students competed in a range of events such as the 100m, 200m, 3/400m, 800m, 1,500m, Javelin, Shot Put, Discus, High Jump and Long Jump. The highlight of the day was the 4 x 100m relay with teams for Years 7 to 10.
Special mentions go to following students who broke school records:
| Bobby Courton | Year 7 Boys 300m | 52.03 seconds |
| Jayden Clark | Year 8 Boys 300m | 50.45 seconds |
| Alexie France | Year 9 Boys 100m | 11.17 seconds |
| Joe Colangelo-Allen | Year 9 Triple Jump | 12.35m |
| Will Calvert | Year 9 Boys 300m | 42.45 seconds |
Thank you to everyone in the PE department, the Sixth Formers and staff volunteers who made this such a fantastic event.
The winners for each year group are below and congratulations to Red and Purple House who were joint first place overall with 577 points showing that the performance of every student in every event really counts.
- Year 7 – Red House

- Year 9 – Purple House
