Poetry Competition spreads the message of hope, joy and love!

To develop creative writing skills and spread the message of hope, joy and love across the generations, this term we launched a Spring Term Poetry Competition, which is open to all students in Years 7 to 11.
The theme for the competition is around the concept of “a message to the children of the future” where students can write a poem about what kind of world of world they would like to grow up in or the message they would like to pass on to future generations. We would like to see original ideas where students have draw upon their own views and interests, so it could be about anything that really matters to them!
The deadline for students to submit their poem is Friday 28th March 2025 and they can hand this into the school library. The poem needs to be on one page of A4 and they can choose the style of poem they prefer such as acrostic or even a limerick. If students wish, they can even add illustrations and colour to their entry.
All of the entries will be judged by a panel of staff from across the Trust with winners announced after Easter. As well as prizes, the winning students will also have the opportunity to read their poems to residents in a local care home.
Good luck and we can’t wait to see the amazing entries from our budding writers.
