Gymnasts perform jumps, drops and twists at Superzone Trampoline Competition

A group of 13 talented gymnasts from Years 9 to 11 represented Bourne Academy this month by taking part in the annual South Lincolnshire Superzone Trampoline Competition.

Our students took part in the inter-school competition across four different categories (novice, intermediate, advanced, and elite). This involved the students performing a set solo routine in front of all competitors and were judged based on their individual performances.

The Superzone competition is a team sport where the top four individual scores are added together to give a combined score. Bourne Academy took 5th place out of eight competing schools.

A special mention goes to Tallulah Conway (Year 9) and Amelia Kearns (Year 10) who both finished in 5th place out of over 30 competitors within their categories.

Miss Lyn-Kew, Teacher of PE and Science said “Although the nerves were high, all students performed incredibly well and to the very best of their ability. Well done to all our students who took part in the competition, you were a true credit to the school and represented Bourne Academy brilliantly.”
