Under 13 Netball Team are the 2024 Superzone Champions

Eight schools participated in the U13 Superzone Netball Tournament last term and Bourne Academy were tournament champions by winning six games and just drawing one.

They drew their first game against University Academy Holbeach and this spurred them on as they then went on an amazing winning run with victories against Bourne Grammar School, The Deepings School, Spalding High School, Spalding Academy, Cowley Academy and Giles Academy.

The entire team played with great skill and determination to become overall winners. Zara Wright was selected as ‘player of the tournament’ and made some excellent interceptions during the whole competition. Fleur Nelson, Poppy Green and Sophie King were also voted ‘player of the match’ in different games for their outstanding play.

Throughout the tournament, there was excellent centre court play from Fleur Nelson and Sophie King to allow the shooting combination of Poppy Green and Zara Kelby to attack the goal. This meant we had the majority of play in most of their matches. Emily Norbury, Sophie Smalova and Indigo Cox all played exceptionally well in the centre court, helping to bring the ball down the court, out from defence.
