SLAT Games were incredibly close for Year 8 netball team
The SLAT Sports Games feature all four schools in the Trust and is a tournament where all schools play each other in a mini-tournament. Each year group can then earn points that go towards an overall league table featuring the results from all years.
It was the turn of the Year 8 Girls Netball Team to compete in their tournament, which was hosted by Giles Academy.
It was an incredibly close tournament as it was a three-way tie between Giles Academy, Bourne Academy and Spalding Academy who all won two out of their three games. It then came down to goal difference and we finished runners-up by the smallest of margins.
There were several outstanding performances throughout the tournament. Bella Watson, Fearne Woodcock and Grace Hatton were deservedly recognised as individual Players of the Match for their excellent contributions on court.
Mrs Pickard, Teacher of PE said “It was a closely fought afternoon of competition, played with outstanding team spirit, determination, and resilience. Every player truly gave 100%. A huge well done to the whole squad for representing the school with pride, teamwork and determination.”
