Young Writer Competition winners thrilled to become published authors
We have incredibly talented Year 8 students, as not one, but TWELVE of them have been selected to have their short stories published in a special Young Writers’ Anthology called ‘Spine Chillers Tales from the Grave’.
At the end of Summer 2021, the English department promoted a Young Writer’s Competition to develop creative writing on the theme of Spine Chillers.
The task for students was to create a 100-word story, using tension, suspense and atmosphere. Our brave and intrepid students certainly created thrilling stories that used the power of words to thrill and entertain (and terrify) their readers!
In addition to a winners’ certificate and bookmark, each student will receive a complimentary copy of the book in which their amazing stories will be published.
The book is due to be published in Spring 2022 and we will give you further information about how to get your copy when it is officially available.
