Bourne Academy students celebrate GCSE and Vocational exam success
Students and staff at Bourne Academy are celebrating yet another fantastic year of academic and vocational success with highly impressive results across the diverse curriculum of 23 different GCSE and BTEC subjects.
In addition to English and Mathematics, the top four subjects where students have achieved grades 7 to 9 (or equivalent) are Biology, Health & Social Care, Performing Arts and Sports Science. There has also been a notable increase in grades 9 to 5 in French and Psychology.
Mrs Jemma Curson, Chief Executive Officer at South Lincolnshire Academies Trust said “The fantastic results across all four schools in our Trust demonstrate the incredible hard work of our students and staff, and reflects the students hard work and commitment to their studies. Bourne Academy along with Spalding Academy and Giles Academy have consistently demonstrated impressive results, and we are delighted that Cowley Academy are now emulating the academic success and progress of our other schools since joining the Trust in September 2022.”
“As a Trust with non-selective schools, I am immensely proud of the achievements of every single student who have grown into amazing young people with bright futures. We are delighted so many students have achieved what they require to progress to the next stage of their education and will make a positive difference within their community.”
The impressive GCSE and Vocational grades have been replicated across every school that are part of South Lincolnshire Academies Trust and reflects how well students are fully supported. The continued progress of the summer examination results at Bourne Academy highlights the strength of the quality of education and the wide variety of initiatives that students have been eager to take advantage of. Students have benefitted from extra revision sessions during the Easter holidays, where students choose additional two-hour lessons on specific subjects. In term time, during lunchtimes and after-school, subject staff have provided homework and revision clubs as part of their enrichment programmes. The Trust has also invested in online learning resources that students have been able to utilise as part of their revision tools. This dedication to go above and beyond has ensured students can be rewarded for their hard work and dedication.
Miss Katie Belcher, Headteacher at Bourne Academy said “Following our outstanding Sixth Form results last week, it has been wonderful to celebrate with our students today as their hard work and dedication has been rewarded. The support of our parents and carers has been an important part of their success and is always appreciated.”
“These outstanding GCSE results have meant that the top achieving students from Bourne Academy were able to progress to our SLAT Sixth Form, which continues to grow year-on-year with students from other local secondary schools.”
“I wish all our students the very best in the next phase of their educational endeavours whether this be Sixth Form, College or an apprenticeship. I am looking forward to welcoming students back to our Sixth Form in September and hope all students will keep in touch with the school in the future.”
The next Sixth Form Open Evening will take place on Wednesday 11th November 2026. For more information about the SLAT Sixth Form at Bourne Academy, visit: www.bourneacademy.org/sixthform
