Most frequent questions and answers
Your son / daughter should have a letter for you that has your login credentials. If you have not received this letter we are happy to email you your login credentials. Please let us know that you need us to do this by sending us an email at elearning@bourneacademy.org
When you first logged in you will have set up secure recovery systems using a mobile phone number and email. Start by accessing Ruler and click on forgot password. This will send a verification code to your mobile or chosen email enabling you to log on as normal.
Ruler was launched in school on the 1st October and only homework set since this date will appear. The drop down box at the top of the homework page will enable you to look at active homework and also archived homework. If you have an issue over homework then please contact your child’s head of year in the first instance.
Ruler will show you if your son / daughter has handed in their homework on time – it is important that students do make sure that they click on the submit button when they are handing in their homework online. Once the teacher has marked the work and it has been corrected or improved if needed then the teacher will record it as completed.
Whilst we iron out any initial problems with moving to this new system we suggest that it is still important to record homework in planners. Planners provide an invaluable tool for keeping students organised in their work and it is also an excellent line of communication between students, parents and teachers.
